UPDATE: I now have photos of the Hauppauge HD-PVR device here. Any analog video out of your typical HD set-top box has been termed the 'Analog Hole'. This term was coined by those in the industry as one way people could get HD content isn't protected from being copied or moved in any way. A Snapstream user 'cat6man' found this. That means what it says: no hardware was found to install the driver for. This means that the HD-PVR (which I believe is a external device?) is not connected correctly, not getting power, is not detected by the system, or is defective. Check to see if it shows up in Devices and Printers and/or Device Manager when it is connected to the machine.

Hauppauge Drivers Have Not Been Updated Inf Not Found Found

Hello everyone. New here and I happened to randomly stumble upon this community and thought I'd shoot out a quick question.
Here's the situation: I recently bought this device here and was hoping to use it to record gameplay from my Xbox 360 or my PS4 depending on whatever. Anyways my issue is that when I was following the instructions (posted here) my laptop wouldn't recognize it as a device despite the fact that Windows kept trying to install drivers for it (obviously it ain't going to find any since it's a foreign device). I followed the instruction manual to the tee: Installed the program from the manufacturer's disc and attempted to install the drivers.
Problem being is that since the computer can't recognize the device it can't install the drivers, but instead gives a, 'No compatible hardware detected.' message. Frustrating stuff. I've tried a number of things. Ranging from uninstalling/reinstalling the program/driver, unplugging/replugging in the PVR box, trying different USB ports (all of which are 2.0s according to the laptop specs listed here), running the program as an Administrator (oddly enough it didn't recognize my main 'user' as an Admin), disabling my firewall/antivirus just in case it clashed with installation, and downloading the programs alternatively from the Hauppauge website. Nothing seems to work! So if anybody could throw some pointers I would be forever grateful as I spent all damn night trying to fix this and I haven't slept...
TL;DR: PVR 2 recording device can't be recognized by computer. Tried many troubleshooting steps to remedy the situation and nothing works. Desperately seeking help.
